Common name: Wild Basil

Scientific name: Clinopodium vulgare

Dimensions:
    Flower: About 1/2" (1.5 cm) long
    Plant height: 8-20" (20-50 cm)

Blooming period: June-September

Habitat: Roadsides, pastures, thickets, woods edges

Description: Pink, purple or white flowers in dense terminal and axial clusters; white hairs on calyx and bracts give woolly appearance; corolla 2-lipped; 4 stamens. Leaves 3/4-1½" 2-4 cm) long, opposite, ovate, mostly un- toothed. Mint family. (June 23)
