Common name: Common Snowberry

Scientific name: Symphoricarpos albus

Dimensions:
  Flower: 1/4-3/8" (5-8 mm) long
  Plant height: 2-4' (60-120 cm)

Blooming period: May-July

Habitat: Dry or rocky soil, limy ledges

Description: Tiny, pinkish-white bell- shaped flowers, axillary or terminal in pairs on short stalks (pedicels) or in few-flowered interrupted spikes; 5 corolla lobes half as long or equal to length of tube; anthers about same length as filaments. Leaves egg-shaped (ovate) or oval, 1-2" (2.5-5 cm) long, opposite, usually hairy beneath. Native to limy ledges but cultivated variety has escaped from cultivation. Honeysuckle family. (June 20)
