Common name: Smooth Gerardia

Scientific name: Agalinis purpurea

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1/2-1" (1.5-2.5 cm) long
    Plant height: 4-36" (10-90 cm)

Blooming period: July-September

Habitat: Wet, acidic, sandy places

Description: Few to many pink, purple or occasionally white flowers, short-stalked, growing from leaf axils; 5 petals, downy inside; pointed sepals. Leaves are linear, 3/4-1½" (2-4 cm) long, opposite with smooth margin. Broom-rape family. (September 5)
