Common name: Roadside Sand Spurrey

Scientific name: Spergularia rubra

Dimensions:
  Flower: 1/4" (6 mm) wide
  Plant height: 2-12" (5-30 cm)

Blooming period: June-October

Habitat: Sandy or gravelly soil

Description: Consistently pink flowers on simple or much-branched prostrate or ascending plants. Petals shorter than sepals. Stamens 6-10. Leaves linear or narrowly oval, growing in tufts, flat and not fleshy, 1/8-1½" (3-35 mm) long. Native of Europe. Pink family. (July 22)
