Habitat: Meadows, thickets, low woods
Description: Small, deep-pink flowers in large, spreading feathery clusters; 5 broadly round sepals; 5 petals; numerous protruding stamens; 5-7 pistils. Lower leaves very large, divided into 3-7 broad, deeply-lobed and toothed leaflets; terminal leaflet kidney-
shaped, up to 8" (20 cm) wide and long, deeply cleft; 2-5 pairs of lateral leaflets, stalkless (sessile), toothed, up to 4" (10 cm) wide, shallowly to deeply 3-5 lobed. Flourishes in wildflower gardens. Rose family. (July 23)
