Mountain Cranberry

Common name: Mountain Cranberry
(Lingonberry)

Scientific name: Vaccinium vitis-idaea

Dimensions:
  Flower: ¼" (6 mm) long
  Plant height: Creeper 3-8" (7.5-20 cm)

Blooming period: June-July

Habitat: Bogs, moist woodlands, rocky areas of alpine zone

Description: Small terminal clusters of pink, nodding, bell-shaped flowers with 4-lobed corolla, each flower on a short, glandular upright stalk. Evergreen leaves are alternate, elliptical, ¼-¾" (6-18 mm) long, dotted beneath with erect black glands. Heath family. (June 20)
