Common name: Motherwort (Common)

Scientific name: Leonurus cardiaca

Dimensions:
    Flower: 1/2" (1.5 cm) long, 3/8" (8 mm)wide
    Plant height: 2-4' (60-120 cm)

Blooming period: June-August

Habitat: Roadsides, weedy places, disturbed areas

Description: Rosettes of small, lilac or pale-lavender flowers in upper axils of long-stalked leaves. Two-lobed upper lip bearded; 3-lobed lower lip spreading; calyx has 5 united sepals; 4 stamens. Lower leaves 2-4" (5-10 cm) long, wedge-shaped with 3 long points and numbers of lesser teeth; upper leaves smaller and less deeply cut.
