Scientific name: Epilobium angustifolium

Dimensions:
    Flower: 3/4-1" (2-2.5 cm) wide
    Plant height: 2-8' (60-240 cm)

Blooming period: July-September

Habitat: Clearings, burned-over areas, field
edges

Description: Large magenta flowers in terminal, spike-like clusters. Four roundish spreading petals; 8 stamens, and a long whitish style with a cross-shaped stigma. Leaves 4-12" (10-30 cm) long, shiny green above, purplish red underneath. Evening Primrose family. (July 13)
