Alsike Clover

Common name: Alsike Clover

Scientific name: Trifolium hybridum

Dimensions:
  Flower: ¼-½" (6-13 mm) long in heads about ¾" (2 cm) wide
  Plant height: 1-2' (30-60 cm)

Blooming period: June-October

Habitat: Lawns, roadsides, fields, open woods

Description: Creamy white to pink pea flowers in round heads singly on erect or ascending stems. The heads, which are long-stalked and have a sweet fragrance, turn brown with age. Leaves grow from the branching stems in 3 leaflets 1-2" (2.5-5 cm) long, are oval or elliptic, rounded or notched at the tip, and are not marked with pale triangles as other clovers. Pea family.
