Scientific name: Rhododendron prinophyllum

Dimensions:
Flower: 1 1/2-2" (3.5-5 cm) wide
Plant height: 2-6' (60-180 cm)

Blooming period: Late April-May

Habitat: Moist or dry woods and bogs

Description: Very fragrant bright pink to sometimes nearly white tubular flowers in terminal clusters; 5-lobed flat-faced corolla; corolla tube about as long as the lobes; pistil and 5 long stamens project beyond the corolla; stamens about twice as long as the corolla tube. Leaves 2-4" (5-10 cm) long, oblong to narrowly oval, not fully expanded when flower full and functional (anthesis); softly finely hairy on underside. Heath family. (May 28)
